Welcome to the Gardiner Family Practice
With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic;
1 - We have suspended all patient bookable appointments. You will not be able to book a routine appointment as before. DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE UNLESS YOU ARE ASKED TO DO SO BY A DOCTOR. Instead, if you feel you have a problem that requires a medical opinion, you can phone the practice (O28) 90741188 for a triage appointment. Please leave as much detail with the receptionist as you can. A doctor will phone you back. Due to the volume of calls, please try to call before 10:30am. This will allow the doctor to prioritise the calls and call you back as son as possible.
2 - For test results, please try to call between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Your results are important and as we are receiving and making a high volume of calls in the morning, the doctor will be better placed to discuss your results in the afternoon.
3 - If you feel you may need a home visit - Please try to call before 10:30am. This will give the doctor more time to assess your call and plan a visit on a timely basis.
If you require urgent medical attention outside of normal surgery hours please call 02890 744447.
Important note about Coronovirus vaccination programme.
We know many people are interested in the COVID-19 vaccination and want to assure you that we are working through a priority list set by the Department of Health.
Please do not contact us about getting the vaccine.
We will contact patients STRICTLY in the order prioritized by the Department of Health, starting with our most elderly patients first, but please be assured you will be invited in due course.
Please click on the link below, and view the leaflet for information on this prioritization.
Whilst we will endeavour to vaccinate as many patients as we reasonably can, as quickly as we can, subject to supply, please DO NOT PHONE IN TO ENQUIRE ABOUT TIME SCALES as to when you will be invited, as you will understand it is not possible to provide these.
Patients aged 65-69 can now book their COVID vaccination online
https://vaccinations.covid-19.hscni.net/booking
Vaccinations will not take place at the surgery. They will take place at one of the designated Trust Vaccination sites.
Please note, you DO NOT need your Health & Care (HCN) Number to book a vaccination appointment.
Priority groups for coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination:
Further information about the vaccination programme, including who is eligible to book at this time, and where, can be found at https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/covid-19-vaccination-programme-northern-ireland.
Due to Covid 19 the flu vaccine clinics need to be arranged differently this year.
For the safety of patients and staff the number of people in the health centre at any one time will need to be reduced from the numbers in previous years.
Please arrive at the time of your appointment. WEAR A MASK OR APPROPRIATE FACE COVERING.
DO NOT arrive early as you will not be admitted to the building until your appointment time and will you will therefore have to wait outside the building or in your car. DO NOT gather around the entrance doors. DO NOT arrive late as the clinics are designed to reduce the footfall in the building and you may not be able to obtain the vaccine if you miss the time slot.
PLEASE wear a short sleeved top and remove your coat so as to be ready for your vaccination when the nurse calls you.
PLEASE note that this will be a flu clinic only. No prescriptions can be ordered or collected at this time.
Thank you for your help in keeping yourself, other patients and our staff safe.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
