Welcome to the Gardiner Family Practice

With patients' needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need. As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you’ll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisations.

COVID 19 BOOSTER VACCINATIONS

We have no remaining planned Covid 19 vaccination clinics. Please see the message below regarding your options to obtain vaccinations.

In light of the Omicron variant , the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation have stated that all individuals over 18 years old whose second dose was more than 3 months ago should avail of a Booster as soon as possible.

Vaccinations can be booked either via Community Pharmacy, ( Community Pharmacy Vaccinations - HSCB (hscni.net) ) or by attending a Belfast Trust walk in clinic ( Covid-19 vaccination | Belfast Health & Social Care Trust (hscni.net) ) , (COVID-19 Vaccination | South Eastern HSC Trust (hscni.net) or (COVID-19 Vaccination Programme - Northern Health and Social Care Trust (hscni.net)

Full details of the Northern Ireland Covid vaccine programme can accessed at https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/get-covid-19-vaccination-and-booster-northern-ireland for the most up-to-date information, which is likely to be updated regularly.

We continue to roll out the Flu vaccines to eligible patients. If you have received an invitation, or are over the age of 50, but not had one yet, please contact us.

Community pharmacies are also offering flu vaccinations to eligible patients, so this is another option for you.  Details of participating pharmacies can be found here: http://www.hscboard.hscni.net/flu-vaccination-service/

As we administer not one, but two complex vaccination campaigns our phone lines are unprecedently busy, against a backdrop of very high demand for other services.  Our surgery is by no means alone in this - it is a universal issue affecting all surgeries - please be patient while we continue to serve you as best we can.

Please keep an eye on our website, and the local media, for further information.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic;

1 - We have suspended all patient bookable appointments. You will not be able to book a routine appointment as before. DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE UNLESS YOU ARE ASKED TO DO SO BY A DOCTOR. Instead, if you feel you have a problem that requires a medical opinion, you can phone the practice (O28) 90741188 for a triage appointment. Please leave as much detail with the receptionist as you can.  A doctor will phone you back. Due to the volume of calls, please try to call before 10:30am. This will allow the doctor to prioritise the calls and call you back as son as possible.

2 - For test results, please try to call between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. Your results are important and as we are receiving and making a high volume of calls in the morning, the doctor will be better placed to discuss your results in the afternoon.

3 - If you feel you may need a home visit - Please try to call before 10:30am. This will give the doctor more time to assess your call and  plan a visit on a timely basis.

If you require urgent medical attention outside of normal surgery hours please call 02890 744447.
